Who is John Overton?

In 2015 I qualified as a level 3 Pilates instructor from Pilates Training Solutions, Farnham. Since then I have been training continuously through APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute).
Through the Jing institute, Brighton, I trained in myofascial stretching and hip rehabilitation. Then I furthered this knowledge by training in Self-Myofascial Release Therapy.
I practise yoga since university in 1990. I was astonished how focussing on movement for 45 minutes or an hour calmed the overactive mind.
The breathwork I discovered through yoga was formalised through training in Buteyko's method.

It's my passion to pass on great, challenging but safe routines. Using them lifelong, they help us overcome little hurdles on our way to physical and mental health.

Through dancing a little tap and salsa I know, as Pilates did, that dance keeps a body happy and healthy.

I trained in executive and life coaching (www.overturecoaching.uk) through LKB associates, Paris, and at Regard9 in Rennes.
My sports are mountain-biking, hiking, occasional squash, golf and tennis. Singing and percussion are vital to me.
I especially like to teach Pilates to men, since, after all, Joseph Pilates' early work was rehabilitating wounded soldiers.

Inclusivity is my thing; everyone is welcome!
